What works
- Live streaming is listed for more than 300 tracks inside the app
- A FanDuel Sportsbook, Casino or DFS login also works for racing
- Free expert picks and horse stats sit on each race card
- Reviewers describe deposits and payouts as quicker than at TwinSpires
- The iOS app holds a 4.8 average from about 18,000 ratings
What does not
- We found no published rebate program, a gap for high-volume bettors
- Reviewers rate TwinSpires deeper on track library and Derby Week content
- Availability varies by state, and the app shows a state map
- The new-customer bonus is paid as a racing bonus, not as cash
- The interface is aimed at beginners and may feel basic to experts
Horse racing is the one betting market where the price you pay is partly decided before the race, by the track's takeout. That is why a racing app review should end with a number and not an adjective. This one cannot give the number you want most, the rebate, and we will say why before anything else.
The rebate question first
Online racing operators, known as advance deposit wagering companies, often return a share of the pari-mutuel takeout to high-volume customers. Racing Think Tank's explainer gives the arithmetic: with a 20% takeout and a 10% rebate on your bets, your effective cost drops to about 10%. For someone who bets thousands of dollars a week, that matters more than any app feature.
We looked for a published FanDuel Racing rebate program and did not find one. The listing and the pages we could read describe a new-customer racing bonus and promotions, not a rebate schedule. For TwinSpires, reviewers disagree: one source says it has no standard rebate program, another says it offers enhanced rebates at certain tracks. We could not settle that either. So if rebates are your reason to choose, ask both companies for current rates in writing before you move volume.
From TVG to a FanDuel login
FanDuel Racing is the successor to TVG. Wikipedia's history of the network says TVG launched in 1999, was sold to Betfair in 2008 and was relaunched as FanDuel TV in 2022, under FanDuel Group, the US arm of Flutter. The practical result is that your account is a FanDuel account. The app description says you can sign in with any FanDuel Sportsbook, Casino or DFS login, after verification, and that deposits and withdrawals work across FanDuel apps.
The official page blocked our automated browser, so we used the App Store listing for images.

The state map is worth a look before anything else. Racing availability differs from sportsbook availability, and the listing requires you to be 21 or older, a US citizen or resident alien, and in a state where wagering is offered. Reviewers also disagree on whether California is covered, so confirm your own state in the app.
Video and data, the strengths
The app listing promises live streaming for 300+ tracks, "a race every 5 minutes", and free expert picks, horse stats and past performances on every race.

That screen is the argument for the product: you watch the race and place the bet without leaving the card. The bet types shown are Win, Place, Show, Quinella, Exacta and Trifecta, with a Pools and Info link for the money in each pool.

The data panel is the kind of thing new bettors need. It lists jockey and trainer, an average speed figure, early and late numbers, and a short note on the horse's last start. Experienced players will still bring their own past-performance tools, but nothing here is hidden behind a paywall.
Against TwinSpires
CBS Sports' comparison puts FanDuel Racing ahead on convenience: deposits and withdrawals are easier thanks to the sportsbook integration, and customers report quicker payouts than at TwinSpires, though it calls customer service reviews mixed. The same reviewers credit TwinSpires with the deeper track library and Derby Week exclusives, and some describe its interface as dated beside FanDuel's. We could not confirm live-video terms for either, so check what your state allows.
Our read: FanDuel is the better first app, and TwinSpires is the better choice for a bettor who plays many tracks and wants a deep library, though we could not compare rebate terms for either.
The offer, and who this is for
The listing shows "Bet $10, get $50 in racing bonus" for new customers. Bonus money in racing is usually paid in returns on your wagers, not as a cash balance, so the headline overstates what you can withdraw. Read the terms before depositing.
Choose FanDuel Racing if you are new to racing, already use FanDuel, and want video, picks and stats on one screen. The app holds a 4.8 average from 17,931 iOS ratings, a high score for a small audience.
Look elsewhere, or at least ask about rebates, if you wager heavily every week. Pari-mutuel racing takes a fixed cut from every pool, and the app cannot change that.
Responsible gambling
You must be 21 or older and in a state where the service is available. Racing involves a takeout on every pool, so nothing in this review is a way to make money. Set deposit limits before you play, keep bonus funds separate in your head, and use FanDuel's account controls if betting stops being fun. In the US, 1-800-GAMBLER offers confidential help.
