What works
- Esports menu includes Dota 2, League of Legends, Valorant, Overwatch and Counter-Strike
- Football has 19 live events and top leagues from the Premier League to League Two
- Cash out is built into the bet slip and stated in its own terms page
- Licensed in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under account number 39372
What does not
- Football prices are often cited as less sharp than the best rivals
- The £40 free-bet welcome offer returns free bets, which pay winnings only, not the stake
- E-Leagues are simulated eSoccer and eCricket, easy to mistake for real esports
- App ratings differ by source, and weekend withdrawals are cited as slow
Betway's pitch to UK bettors is football first and esports as the second act. Many bookmakers list a handful of esports markets as an afterthought. Betway gives them a section of their own, and that is the reason we looked at it.
The question was whether that focus is enough to make it a primary account. We reached our answer in three parts: the menus, the welcome offer and the price evidence. Our captures come from the public betting site; we did not stake money to test margins, so what we say about prices rests on independent reviewers and is marked as such.
The football menu
The football page opens on a Top Leagues panel: the Premier League, Championship, League One and League Two for England, plus La Liga, the Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1. Tabs split the list into Popular, In-Play, Upcoming and All. When we captured it the In-Play tab showed 19 live events.
One practical note from our featured capture of that page. Under the Highlights fixtures the Home, Draw and Away price boxes were still empty grey shapes when the page was photographed, so the screenshot shows structure and not live odds. The price boxes fill in as the page loads. A competing review puts the depth at more than 140 markets on a Premier League fixture, which matches what a bookmaker of this size usually offers.
Why the esports section matters
Betway lists "Esports" and "E-Leagues" as two different things. The first is competitive gaming: the page we captured names Dota 2, League of Legends, Valorant, Overwatch and Counter-Strike. The second is simulated sport. Its Top Leagues panel lists AdriaticLeague, GT Leagues, Valhalla Cup and Valkyrie Cup as eSoccer, with the Yodha Premier League as eCricket, and its fixtures carry names such as "Real Madrid (Gael) eSoccer".

This is where new bettors trip up. E-Leagues matches are run by software or by players on short clocks and have little in common with a tournament final. Treat them as a separate risk, not as esports.

The welcome offer
The welcome bonus page offers new customers a choice. One is "Bet £10 Get £40 in Free Bets". The other is an accumulator offer: a matched free bet of up to £30 if the first acca loses, plus a £30 Uber Eats voucher.
Free bets deserve a plain reading. Betway's own bet slip wording says payout "does not include the Free Bet stake amount", the usual rule that a free bet returns winnings and not the stake. A £10 free bet on a 2.00 selection returns £10, not £20. The full terms list qualifying odds and expiry dates that we could not read from the page as served, so read them before you deposit.

Cash out and the licence
Cash out has its own terms page: a real-time settlement feature offered wherever the Cash Out button appears on the bet slip. The same page names Betway Limited, a Maltese company registered in Gzira, licensed by the Gambling Commission under account number 39372, and links to safer gambling tools.

What the price evidence says
We cannot give you a margin figure we did not measure, so here is what independent reviewers say. One review states that football odds often carry higher house margins than rival sites. Another cites sharp prices on the Premier League and the Champions League. The reports disagree, which usually means a book that is competitive on a few markets and ordinary on the rest. App scores are consistently good, at roughly 4.6 to 4.8 stars on the stores, though sources differ on the date, and one review lists slow weekend withdrawals and app performance among its cons.
Primary account or specialist account?
Our view is specialist. For esports bettors, Betway belongs in the shortlist, and the separate section makes it easy to use. For football it is a perfectly good place to bet, but we would not put all of a bankroll there on the strength of its menu. Compare its prices against an odds comparison for the same match before you stake, and treat the £40 offer as a way to try the service, not as value in its own right.
