What works
- App Store rating of 4.8 from about 261,000 ratings, version 26.10.16
- Every real-money wager earns MGM Rewards points and tier credits automatically
- Live in roughly two dozen US jurisdictions according to the app listing
- Fast debit-card payouts reported in one reviewer's test, 41 minutes
What does not
- Odds are not always the sharpest, a drawback noted in Gambling.com's 2026 review
- A $20 minimum withdrawal is listed as a drawback by Sharp Football Analysis
- Rewards earn slowly: $100 straight bet gives 50 points and 50 tier credits
- Some promotional wagers and bonus bets do not earn rewards credit
Most sportsbooks ask you to compare prices. BetMGM asks you to compare programs. Every real-money bet earns MGM Rewards points and tier credits, and the pitch is that a Sunday parlay can eventually count toward status at a Las Vegas resort. Whether that matters depends entirely on where you spend your weekends.
So we split the review in two: first the loyalty tie-in, then whether the sportsbook underneath stands up when you ignore it.
What the rewards actually pay
Third-party guides to the program agree on the basic rate. A $100 straight bet earns 50 BetMGM Rewards points and 50 MGM Rewards tier credits. Points can be redeemed for bonus credits or resort experiences. Tier credits cannot be spent at all: they only set your status.
The status ladder starts with Sapphire below 20,000 credits, then Pearl at 20,000, Gold at 75,000 and Platinum at 200,000, with Noir by invitation only. Do the arithmetic at the quoted rate and Pearl needs roughly $40,000 in straight bets. That is our calculation from the guides' figures, not a number BetMGM publishes, and the rate can change.
Two fine-print points deserve a mention. Some promotional wagers, including certain bonus bets, do not earn rewards. And tier credits earned through BetMGM do not count toward MGM's Accelerator bonus promotion. If you bet small and stay home, the program is a rounding error. If you already hold an MGM Rewards card for hotel stays or slots, the sportsbook feeds one account you already care about.

The app, by the numbers
The US App Store listing shows BetMGM at 4.75 from about 261,000 ratings on version 26.10.16, free to download and requiring iOS 18.0 or later. The listing names Arizona, Colorado, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Kansas among roughly two dozen jurisdictions where it takes bets. That footprint is wider than most regional books and narrower than the very largest brands.
A big rating is not a guarantee that your account will go smoothly, and the written reviews prove it. In the panel below the headline score sits above reviews titled "Scam do not spend money on here" and "Emails Spam". Single complaints on an app store tell you little about the median bettor, but marketing email volume is a theme worth knowing about before you opt in to everything.

Odds and the line-shopping question
Here is where the two reviews we read disagree. Sharp Football Analysis calls the odds consistently competitive, while Gambling.com's 2026 review lists odds that are not always as competitive as a drawback. We read those as compatible: BetMGM is in the pack, not at the front of it.
For a straight bet at standard -110 pricing, the difference between books is small. Parlays and same game parlays are where margins stack up, and no book we have reviewed escapes that. If you bet seriously, you will want at least one other account, and BetMGM works as a perfectly good second or third.

Getting money back out
The $20 minimum withdrawal is listed by Sharp Football Analysis as a drawback, and it is the kind of rule that costs nothing until you hit it with a small balance. Gambling.com reports that debit-card withdrawals are very fast and other methods slow, and one of its testers received a debit payout in 41 minutes. Canadian coverage describes a multi-day internal review on every withdrawal there, but that is a different regulated market, so we do not apply it to the US.
We have not assembled a table of payout times by state, because they vary by method and by account verification. Verify your identity before your first withdrawal request and expect it to go faster.
Verdict
BetMGM suits the person who plays MGM casino games online, visits MGM properties, or simply wants a clean, highly rated app with broad US coverage. The rewards are a real, if slow, extra.
It does not suit a bettor who treats price as the only variable. In that case the odds are decent rather than best, the withdrawal floor is a nuisance, and the loyalty tie-in does nothing for you. Joining is free. Bonus offers carry play-through terms, so read them before you deposit, and remember that no sportsbook offers a reliable way to make money.
Responsible gambling: you must meet the legal age in your state, usually 21. Use the deposit limits and time-outs in the app. If gambling is causing harm, call 1-800-GAMBLER for confidential help.
