What works
- Annual plan at $119.99 works out to about $10 a month
- Free app already shows live odds and public betting percentages
- Single bundle of projections, system picks, alerts and bet tracking
- App Store rating of 4.8 from about 39,400 ratings
What does not
- Weekly price of $14.99 adds up to about $780 over a year
- No trial or money-back guarantee appears on the subscribe page
- Subscribe page does not make clear which features are PRO only
- Projections and systems are marketed as profitable with no audited record shown
Before you pay for Action Network PRO, spend ten minutes in the free app. Most of what a new subscriber assumes is locked away is already open, and the rest is a question of how much you value a tidier workflow.
What you get for nothing
The home page is a plain odds board. Each game lists spreads, prices and kickoff times with the network, and the site is built around that table. The subscribe page's feature list shows a free layer that includes live odds, some articles, bet percentages, and pick and game alerts.
The public betting page for the NFL is the most useful free page. It lists every game with the share of tickets and the share of money on each side, so you can see where the crowd and the larger stakes disagree. It carries a prompt reading "The fastest way to bet like a PRO", which is the upsell, but the percentages themselves were visible without a subscription when we loaded it.

What PRO adds, and what it costs
The subscribe page lists PRO features as live expert pick alerts, betting model projections, real money percentages, premium article access, top player prop values and historically profitable systems. The table also names a Sharp Action Report, PRO line alerts, PRO system picks and custom bet tracking. We could not tell from the page which items belong to the entry tier and which to PRO, and the maker does not set that out clearly. Ask for the breakdown, or check the app's locked labels, before you commit.
The prices are the useful part:
Weekly: $14.99
Monthly: $24.99
Annual: $119.99, labelled "Best Value!"
Do the sums. The annual plan works out to roughly $10 a month. Monthly billing for a year is about $300, and paying weekly for a year would cost about $780. The weekly plan only makes sense as a one-off trial of a single NFL slate, and the page mentions no free trial or guarantee, so even that is a paid test.

Do projections add anything?
The honest answer is that projections tell you where a model disagrees with the market, and that is information, not a guarantee. The page markets "historically profitable systems", which sounds strong. It shows no audited record on that page, and a system that was profitable in the past tends to be competed away once it is public. We would treat PRO projections as one input to compare with the line, never as a reason to stake more.
The PRO line alerts and bet tracking are more concrete. Alerts save you from watching a board, and tracking is a convenience that also keeps you honest about what you have actually staked. For many bettors, an accurate record of results is the most valuable thing a tracker does, because it shows how much money has gone out.
The app and the competition
The App Store lookup puts Action Network: Sports Betting at 4.76 from about 39,400 ratings. Pikkit, a bet-tracking app, scores 4.87 from about 21,900 ratings and BettingPros scores 4.78 from about 16,200 ratings in the same lookup. All three rate well, so the score will not decide it. Price will: ask what a competing tracker or picks app charges, and whether you would use more than one of the features here.
Reading the sharp action report with care
Sharp-money reports try to separate large, informed stakes from casual ones, usually by comparing ticket counts against money. The method has limits. A big bet is not always a smart one, a line can move because one book changed its exposure, and a report is a summary of what already happened. We found the idea useful as a prompt for a second look at a game, and we would not follow it blindly.
Verdict
PRO is worth considering if you bet most weeks, use several sportsbooks, and want projections, alerts and tracking in the same place. Buy the annual plan, set a reminder to review it after one season, and cancel if you have not used the tools.
It is not worth buying if you bet once or twice a month, or if you expect the projections to turn a profit. The free app handles odds and public percentages. Nothing in a subscription removes the sportsbook's margin, and no product we have reviewed makes betting a reliable income.
Responsible gambling: you must be 21 or over in most US states. Never stake money you cannot afford to lose, set limits at each sportsbook, and call 1-800-GAMBLER if betting is causing problems.
