About the desk

Vigscout reviews sportsbooks, betting exchanges, prediction markets, pick'em apps and betting software by using them with our own money.

What we review

We cover licensed online sportsbooks in the US, the UK and Ireland and other regulated markets, betting exchanges, prediction markets, daily fantasy and pick'em apps, horse racing wagering apps, and the odds tools and trackers that bettors pay a subscription for.

Every review is filed under one of those categories and carries a score out of ten. The rankings put every score on one board.

Who writes it

Reviews are published under one byline, The Vigscout Test Desk, because each one is the work of the desk rather than one person: one of us opens the account, another checks the terms and the prices, and a third reads the draft against the evidence before it goes up.

We write in plain English and quote numbers as we found them: the margin on a market, the fee on a withdrawal, the hours a payout took. Where we could not verify something, the review says so.

How the desk is paid for

No operator can buy a review, a score or a place in the rankings. If a page ever carries a link that pays us when a reader signs up, that page will say so near the top, and the score will be the same as it would be without the link.

We do not accept free bets, boosted accounts or hospitality from the companies we review.

What we will never do

  • Present betting as a way to make money or pay bills.
  • Write for anyone under 18, or under the legal betting age where they live.
  • Recommend an unlicensed operator in a market where a licensed one is required.
  • Hide a correction: when we get something wrong, the review carries a note saying what changed.

Getting in touch

Errors, payout disputes we should know about, and questions about a score go to the desk. The contact page explains what to include.
