myVEGAS Slots review: free chips, MGM comps, and a rewards ladder that keeps shrinking

myVEGAS pays no cash, but it does hand out loyalty points that can become hotel nights, dining credits and show tickets. We ask whether those perks justify the hours and any chips you buy.

6.2/10our score

A polished free slots app with the one feature rivals cannot copy: loyalty points that turn into hotel, dining and show perks. That value has been trimmed several times, redemptions carry resort fees and conditions, and the chips themselves are worthless. Play for the fun, treat any perk as a small bonus, and do not pay to chase it.

myVEGAS Slots is not a gambling product. You cannot deposit and you cannot withdraw. Chips are a game currency, and winning more of them does nothing for your bank balance. What it offers instead is a loyalty scheme, and the review turns on one question: are those points worth the hours?

A note on method. We read the App Store listing, the maker's coverage and independent travel and gaming write-ups, and captured each page we cite. We did not redeem a room ourselves, so every reward figure here is attributed and some come from older sources that we mark as dated.

What the app actually sells

myVEGAS is built by PLAYSTUDIOS, which pitches it as an official partner of MGM Resorts. The App Store listing is free, rated 18+ for simulated gambling, and shows 4.6 stars from about 202,000 ratings.

Its welcome bonus claim is a reminder of what chips are worth. The listing advertises 5,000,000,000 free chips, while PokerNews cites 3 million and its FAQ says more than a million. Numbers that change by a factor of a thousand depending on the page tell you the currency has no fixed value. More bonus chips arrive every two hours, along with a daily bonus, coin drops and events such as myVEGAS Heist and Mission Chase.

How points become perks

Loyalty points come from spinning and event play. They are separate from chips and build toward the myVIP Rewards catalogue, which PLAYSTUDIOS says is shared across its other apps. PokerNews lists examples including complimentary stays at the Plaza, discounted Royal Caribbean cruises, dining discounts and Virgin Voyages discounts, with most rewards centred on Las Vegas.

None of the sources we read publishes a conversion rate from spins to points. That is a problem for a rewards scheme, because you cannot tell how many hours a one-night stay costs. Older redemption listings are the only price points we found, and they are dated: a 2023 calendar quoted 150,000 points for a Bellagio night, 100,000 for Aria, 75,000 for Park MGM and 18,000 for a Luxor night. Check the live cost in the app.

The devaluation habit

The rewards have been tightening for years. Miles to Memories reported that MGM limited comp room rewards to one redemption per trip, and said restaurant credits had turned into two-for-one coupons. A January 2026 Reddit thread described two-night rewards unlocking at level 4, no weekend free stays, and resort fees and taxes still due. A Las Vegas Advisor poster said some awards now require a stay at an MGM property, and another thought the whole thing was barely worth the time.

Hospitality Tech's coverage explains the original idea: play free, earn points, redeem at real properties

So the mechanism is real, and it also works against the player over time. Dining, show and drink discounts suit people who use them in passing. Free rooms suit people who will be in Las Vegas anyway, who are willing to pay the resort fee and who will not buy chips to get there.

Where the idea came from

GamesBeat covered the original launch as a mobile game with real-world rewards at MGM properties, and the pitch has barely changed since: spend time, collect points, redeem for something physical. The difference is that the supply of rooms is finite and MGM sets the terms.

The chip shop and the privacy label

Chip packs run from $1.99 to $19.99 on the App Store, with several at $2.99, $4.99 and $9.99. Because points track play, buying chips keeps you spinning longer, and more spins mean more points. That logic is exactly how the game earns, so we would not buy for a perk. The privacy label lists purchases, location and identifiers used to track you, which is more than a casual slots game needs.

PokerNews notes biometric login and two-factor authentication, and support through live chat on the PLAYSTUDIOS site with no phone line.

Who should play

Play if you are visiting an MGM property and already enjoy social slots. Skip it if you want cash prizes, or if the plan is to spend money to reach a free room.

There is no house edge to beat because there is no money to win, but the loop can still take hours and cash. Set a phone timer and a monthly spend cap, and stop if the game stops being fun.
