Cloudbet review: since 2013, but a long history is not the same as a strong licence

Cloudbet is one of the oldest crypto casinos, with 30+ coins, a $2,500 welcome package and no stated withdrawal cap. We test the claim that age and high limits make it the safe pick.

6.9/10our score

Cloudbet earns credit for staying in business since 2013, listing a licence number and paying out in crypto without a published cap. But the licence is Curaçao, not a strict regulator, the games count is stated inconsistently and player reviews are split on account closures. A reasonable, experienced option, not a safe one by default.

If you ask crypto gamblers which sites have lasted, Cloudbet's name comes up early. It says it started in 2013, which makes it older than most of the offshore casinos that now compete for the same players. The angle we were handed was whether that age, plus high limits, makes it the safest choice for serious players. After reading the terms, the licence details and independent feedback, our answer is: it is one of the more established options, and "safest" is a word we will not use.

How we worked: we captured Cloudbet's English pages, read its public terms and compared them with directory listings and player reviews. We did not deposit, so the withdrawal claims below are the site's own, labelled as such.

What 2013 buys you, and what it does not

Cloudbet's About page says it was among the first cryptocurrency sportsbooks and casinos, started as a Bitcoin betting site and now supports more than 30 coins across several networks, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, USDT, XRP, Litecoin and BNB. It also says customer funds sit in cold wallet storage. That is the maker's description, and we cannot audit it.

Longevity counts as evidence of something. A casino that has stayed open through several crypto cycles has probably paid a lot of people. It is not evidence that you would win a dispute, because the rules that decide disputes come from the licence.

The licence is the hinge

The casino page footer names the operator as Halcyon Super Holdings B.V. in Curaçao and lists Curaçao Gaming Authority licence OGL/2024/328/0599. A Bitcoin.com directory repeats that number and says unresolved complaints go to CADRE, a Curaçao-certified dispute provider.

Compare that with a UK, Ontario or US state licence. Those regulators publish rules on advertising, account freezes and complaint handling, and they can fine operators in public. Curaçao's regime has been reformed and is stricter than it was, but we would still weight it as a lighter protection for players. That is the main reason Cloudbet is a mid-table pick for us despite its history.

The welcome package, and the wagering fine print

Cloudbet advertises up to $2,500 in cash rewards if you deposit in the first 30 days, together with 10% rakeback on bets and daily cash drops. Its VIP Club pays milestone cash with no playthrough, and Sapphire tier and above get a host and priority withdrawal handling, according to the site.

Our caution is about the edges. The footer says there are no rollovers on rewards, but Bitcoin.com's listing says deposits must be wagered once before verification and a quarter-times afterward, and another reviewer could not find that rule in the main terms. When two readers of the same terms disagree, read them yourself before depositing.

Withdrawals and limits

The site says withdrawals are typically completed in under 24 hours and states no withdrawal amount limit. The same directory says verification becomes mandatory once cumulative deposits reach about $2,200. Use that as a planning figure, not a promise, and assume you will upload ID before a large cash-out.

On limits, the About page says "no-limit betting on major markets" with no throttling of tickets. That statement is about the sportsbook. We found no published table-limit figures for casino games, so the idea that this is a high-limit casino is the sportsbook's reputation carried over. How it treats big winners is the open question, and Trustpilot's feedback includes accounts closed for "suspicious activity" next to praise for fast payouts.

Games, count and a crowded field

The site says "over 3,000" games in one section and "over 2,000 slots" in another, so we treat the count as roughly a few thousand and not a precise number. Casino, live dealer, table games and esports betting sit behind one wallet, which is handy if you also bet on sport.

For where it sits among crypto sites, a Bitcoin.com roundup lists many rivals. Cloudbet does not look like the biggest lobby, but the sportsbook is a real reason to prefer it.

Responsible gambling

Cloudbet lists deposit limits, timeouts and a responsible gambling page, and links out to help organisations. Crypto makes spending feel abstract, and withdrawals back to your wallet are irreversible, so set your own cap before you fund an account. The house edge always favors the casino, whether the stake is dollars or Bitcoin.

Verdict

Cloudbet is a sensible choice for a crypto player who understands offshore licensing and wants a sportsbook beside the casino. It is a poor choice for anyone hoping a big name replaces consumer protection. We rate it 6.9.
