About Housetally

Housetally is a small, independent desk that reviews online casinos, sweepstakes sites, poker rooms and social casino apps by using them the way a customer would.

What we do

We open accounts, verify our identity, deposit our own money, play, and then ask for it back. Each review reports what happened with dates and amounts: how long the withdrawal took, which documents the cashier asked for, what the bonus really required before it could be cashed out, and how easy it was to set a deposit limit or close the account.

We write in plain English for adults who have already decided to gamble and want to do it somewhere licensed, with terms they understand. We never present gambling as a way to earn money. Over time the house edge favours the casino, and every review says so.

How the site is paid for

Some links to casinos may earn us a referral fee if a reader signs up. That fee never decides a score, a position on the rankings or what a review says about a casino. Operators cannot pay to be reviewed, to see a review before it is published, or to have a verdict changed.

Who writes the reviews

Every review is published under one byline, The Housetally Test Desk, because each one is the work of several people: the tester who held the account, the editor who checked the terms, and the reader who checked our sums. Mistakes are corrected in the open, with a note at the end of the review.

Where we cover

We review state-licensed US casinos, UK Gambling Commission licensed sites, Canadian provincial and iGaming Ontario operators, sweepstakes casinos, crypto casinos and poker rooms. Laws differ by country, state and province. A casino appearing here does not mean it is legal where you live; check before you sign up.
