About Ironnook

Who tests the equipment on Ironnook, how the site is funded and what we will never do.

Ironnook reviews home gym equipment the way you will use it: in a spare room, a garage or the corner of a living room, with neighbours, a budget and limited floor space.

What we cover

Treadmills and walking pads, exercise bikes, rowers and ski ergs, adjustable dumbbells and kettlebells, racks and benches, smart strength systems, small-space gear and recovery tools. If it lives in a home and you train on it, it belongs here.

Every review ends with a score from 0 to 10, a verdict, a line on who should buy it, and the maker's own specs so you can check our reading of them.

Who writes the reviews

Reviews are published under one byline, The Ironnook Test Desk. The desk assembles each product, trains on it and writes up what it found as a team, so a review reflects more than one body and one room.

How the site is paid for

Makers do not pay for reviews, scores or positions in the rankings, and they do not see a review before it is published. If we ever earn a commission from a link, the review will say so next to the link.
