Bitget Wallet keeps your keys on your device while its swap, card and earn features quietly route activity back toward its parent exchange. We tested MPC login, the Super DEX aggregator and the card to see whether the convenience outweighs the funnel.

Bitget Wallet asks a question most self-custody wallets never bother with: what if signing up felt like any other finance app? We spent two weeks moving funds through it across four chains, testing both a standard seed phrase account and an email-based MPC login, to see if that convenience comes at the cost of custody or just at the cost of a slightly busier app.

Two ways to hold your keys, and they are not the same

Most wallets in this category force a choice between remembering a 12-word phrase or trusting a company entirely. Bitget Wallet splits the difference with MPC accounts: sign up with an email, Google account, Apple ID or Telegram, and your private key never fully exists in one place. Instead it is split into shards, one held on your device and others distributed elsewhere, so no single party, including Bitget, can reconstruct it alone.

That is a real security improvement over a plain custodial account, but it is not identical to a classic seed phrase wallet either. A seed phrase depends on nothing but math and a piece of paper you control completely; an MPC account depends on Bitget's infrastructure staying available and honest for at least one of the shards. We would still recommend the standard seed-phrase option to anyone comfortable managing one, and save the MPC login for people who would otherwise skip self-custody altogether out of fear of losing a seed phrase.

Super DEX: convenient, and not neutral

Bitget Wallet's built-in swap runs through what it calls Super DEX, an aggregator that checks routes across chains and applies MEV-aware routing to avoid the worst sandwich attacks. We ran swaps on Ethereum and BNB Chain and pricing came back competitive with routing through MetaMask's own swap feature, though neither beat going directly to the cheapest single DEX by hand.
