Reviews describe what our testers saw over weeks of use on their own skin and hair. They are not medical advice: patch test new products and see a dermatologist about skin conditions. Prices are the makers' own and change often. © 2026 Dewscope.

CeraVe product page for Moisturizing Cream with the heading, a short description and a jar photograph

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream Review: Still the Best Cheap Barrier CreamEditor's pickBy CeraVeFor dry and normal skin on face or body this is still the best-value barrier cream we know of: three ceramides, glycerin, hyaluronic acid and an occlusive base for roughly a dollar an ounce in the big tub. It is heavy for oily skin, the jar is less hygienic than a pump, and it does nothing fancy.Dry, eczema-prone or normal skin, face and bodyFrom $14.99From $14.998.7

La Roche-Posay US product page for Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer, priced at $24.99

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer ReviewBy La Roche-PosayA fragrance-free, oil-free cream with ceramide NP, niacinamide and glycerin for $24.99, with a National Eczema Association seal. It is a sensible, calm pick for skin irritated by actives and sits well under sunscreen. It is light for very dry skin, contains silicones, and the tube is hard to empty.Irritated or sensitive skin that needs a plain daily cream$24.99$24.998.2

Clinique product page for Moisture Surge 100H Auto-Replenishing Hydrator with the summary heading and prices

Clinique Moisture Surge 100H Review: Dry Skin or Combination?By CliniqueA light, oil-free gel-cream that sits well under makeup and suits normal, combination and dehydrated skin. Truly dry skin gets water but no seal, so it needs a richer cream on top. The 100-hour claim is a test figure.Combination or dehydrated skin that wants a light layer under makeupFrom $18From $187.8

CeraVe's product page for the Hydrating Facial Cleanser with the bottle image and a $15.99 price

CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser Review: Gentle, Cheap, Not a Makeup RemoverBy CeraVeA gentle, fragrance-free cream cleanser that does what a daily wash for dry or sensitive skin should, at a fair price. It will not dissolve waterproof makeup or heavy sunscreen on its own, so pair it with a first cleanse if you wear those.Dry, sensitive or eczema-prone skin and a simple routineFrom $15.99From $15.997.8

Tatcha's product page for The Water Cream, a lightweight pore-refining moisturizer, with the jar shown beside the product name

Tatcha The Water Cream Review: Good for Oily Skin, Mostly a $93 JarBy TatchaA light, quick-absorbing gel cream that suits oily and combination skin and sits well under foundation. The formula is mostly glycerin, silicones and a ferment, nothing a $20 gel cream cannot approximate, so at $93 for 75 ml you pay for texture, scent and a handsome jar. Good, not a bargain.Oily or combination skin that wants a light, elegant gel cream$93$937.2

Kiehl's product page for Ultra Facial Cream with Squalane, described as the number one face cream with 4.5% squalane

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream Review: Nice Cream, Expensive HabitBy Kiehl'sA pleasant, light, fragrance-free daily moisturizer that is easy to like on dry or normal skin. It is not better enough than a drugstore ceramide cream to justify three times the price per ounce, and some oily or acne-prone users report breakouts. Buy it if you enjoy the texture and the budget allows; otherwise start cheaper.Dry to normal skin that wants a light, fragrance-free daily creamFrom $40From $407.0

Drunk Elephant product page for Protini Polypeptide Firming Refillable Moisturizer showing the title, product photos and a $72.00 price

Drunk Elephant Protini Review: Do Nine Peptides Justify $72?By Drunk ElephantProtini is a pleasant, fragrance-free gel cream that hydrates well and feels light, but the firming claim rests on a 31-person, 8-week brand study that cannot separate peptides from any good moisturizer. At $72 for 50 ml it is a luxury texture purchase, not a proven anti-aging one. Cheaper peptide products cover the same ground.Normal to dry skin that wants a light, scent-free gel cream$72$726.6

Dyson Supersonic Nural Review: Is Scalp-Sensing Heat Worth $500?
The Nural backs off its heat as it nears your scalp and pauses itself when set down. It is a real feature, but cheaper high-speed dryers dry hair almost as fast.

Shark CryoGlow LED Face Mask Review: Is the Under-Eye Cooling Real?
Shark's $299.99 CryoGlow adds chilled under-eye pads to a red, blue and infrared LED mask. The cooling is a genuine differentiator, but it costs battery life, adds fan noise and makes the mask heavy.

Maybelline Sky High Washable Mascara Review: Long Lashes for $13.99
The viral drugstore mascara delivers real length and clean separation for $13.99. It does not out-volumize the best prestige formulas, and the washable version trades staying power for easy removal.

La Roche-Posay product page for Anthelios Melt-in Milk Sunscreen SPF 60 with product photos and a $37.99 price

La Roche-Posay Melt-in Milk SPF 60 Review: A Comfortable Daily Sunscreen

A chemical-filter milk with a satin-matte finish, no white cast and 80 minutes of water resistance. It earns its Consumer Reports reputation, but it contains alcohol and is built for the body first.
