We ran the Pro Plus through four flights, two of them on airlines known for strict gate sizing, to find out if that pocket earns its keep.

A traveler who checks their laptop bag separately or travels light enough to skip a laptop altogether should save the $30 and buy the base Pro instead, since the Plus adds size and a small amount of weight for a feature they will not use.
