We may receive information you send us deliberately: an email address, the contents of a message, a correction request. Separately, our servers and measurement tools may record limited technical data: browser type, device type, referring page, approximate region, and which pages were viewed and when.
What it is used for
Running and protecting the site, answering messages, understanding which reviews get read, preventing abuse, complying with the law and improving the writing. Information you send the newsroom is not used to build advertising profiles.
Cookies and measurement
Essential cookies support editorial sign-in and remember preferences. Measurement services may produce usage figures in aggregate form. Where the law requires it, non-essential technologies are subject to a consent mechanism.
Sharing with third parties
A limited amount of information may be shared with infrastructure, security, measurement and email providers acting on our behalf, or where reasonably necessary to comply with the law and protect rights and safety. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and security
Information is kept only as long as needed for its purpose, for legal obligations, dispute resolution, security and legitimate archiving. We apply reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, or object to processing. We may need to verify identity, and some information may be retained where law, security or freedom of expression allows.
Children and policy changes
Pinwheel is not directed at children below the minimum age under applicable law. This policy may be updated as the service or legal obligations change; the date at the top of the page identifies the current version.
