TENWAYS AGO T: 80 Nm mid-drive and an Enviolo hub with no gears to change

A stepless hub, a carbon belt and 80 Nm in the middle of the frame. The AGO T is what happens when a city bike stops asking the rider to think about gears.

In short

The AGO T pairs an 80 Nm mid-drive with an Enviolo stepless hub and a Gates belt, which together remove every mechanical decision from riding: no gear numbers, no chain, no oil, no hunting for the right ratio on a hill. At €2,399 it is twice the price of a basic hub-motor bike, and it feels like considerably more than twice the bike.

Indicative price: €2,399 (regular €2,699)Best for: Commuters on hilly city routes who never want to shift a gear again

What you get

  • 80 Nm mid-drive motor — a genuine hill climber
  • Enviolo stepless hub: twist to change ratio, at a standstill if you like
  • Gates carbon belt, hydraulic disc brakes and a hydraulic lockout fork
  • 504 Wh portable battery you can take indoors to charge

What you give up

  • €2,399 is a serious price for a city bike
  • One frame size covering 165–195 cm will not fit everyone well
  • Stepless hubs are slightly less efficient than a derailleur

Gears are a solved problem for cyclists and an unsolved one for everybody else. Most people who ride to work do not know which ratio they are in, do not shift before a hill, and grind to a halt on a climb in a gear meant for a descent.

The AGO T's answer is an Enviolo stepless hub: no numbers, no clicks, no wrong gear. You twist the grip and the ratio moves continuously, including while you are stopped at a light.

80 Nm in the middle of the frame

A mid-drive motor pushes through the transmission rather than the wheel, which is why 80 Nm here feels quite unlike 80 Nm from a hub. It multiplies through the gearing, so steep climbs flatten out instead of merely getting slower.

It also puts the weight low and central, so the bike handles like a bicycle rather than like a bicycle with a brick tied to one wheel. On a wet roundabout, that is worth more than a range figure.

  • 80 Nm mid-drive motor with an integrated torque sensor.

  • Enviolo stepless hub — change ratio at a standstill.

  • Gates carbon belt drive: no oil, no chain maintenance.

  • 504 Wh battery that comes out and charges indoors.

  • Hydraulic disc brakes and a hydraulic lockout fork.

The AGO T removes three things a commuter should never have to think about: which gear, when to oil the chain, and whether the brakes will work in the rain.

What €2,399 has to justify

Twice the price of a basic hub-drive commuter. The honest answer is that almost all of it is in the transmission: a mid-drive motor, a stepless hub and a belt are each expensive on their own.

If your route is flat and short, that money is not working for you and the CGO600 Pro is the better buy. If your route has hills, traffic lights and weather, this is where the difference shows up every single day.

Who it is for

Daily commuters on hilly routes who want a bicycle that never asks for anything: no oiling, no shifting, no fettling. It is the closest thing in this price bracket to an appliance, in the best sense of that word.

Only one frame size is offered, covering riders from 165 to 195 cm. That is a wide spread for a single geometry — sit on one before committing if you are near either end of it.
